omg yeah! I have a performance on saturday. My voice shakes too. Try practicing in front of your friends. then progress to a teacher. And (as embarassing as it is for me) Move on to your parents. That has always helped me. also, don't get worked up. just have FUN!!!!!!!!

Remember to breath. :]

Haha and usually when I have an audition or performance, I say a silent prayer to give me strength and calm my nerves. Works wonders. Of course, that's just me.

good luck w/ the performance!!! my best advice is to ignore the fact that they're seniors just remember you have just as much a right to be there as they do and listening to music beforehand helps

God I get it soooooooooo bad! I cant get up at all, one time when I did I fainted! It was really embarrassing! Now I just completely avoid trying to do it. But I can do it if I have someone up there with me, otherwise, I cant do it at all!

I always try laughing at something or about something when I am nervous. Laughing calms you down even though you wouldn't think it would. But Laughter is actually therapeutic. So, talk with some friends or anybody before you perform and talk about something funny. Or if you can't talk to anybody before... just think about something that makes you laugh, like one of those things that makes you laugh out loud like a day later when you think about it. That always helps me relax my mind and my nerves. Good Luck! :) And DON'T let seniors intimidate you. I was one last year... and even though a lot of them think they are the s**t they have just as many worries and insecurities as everybody else... they aren't gods, though some of them think they are. Just believe in yourself and you will do fine :)

I get hidious stage fright. Just yesterday I had to preform a monolouge in front of my Drama class. I did alright because I practiced even though I think missed a line, but I vaugly remember it. Just looking at myself in the mirrior on the other side of the drama room....I remember..The room spun.

Talking helps. Talk and talk and talk and talk and scream if you have to and then you'll get all the shakey nerves out. Throw a fit just explode right before you go on. Don't prolong it, just get it all, jump out there and do it.

Maybe someday I'll take my own advice. :P

Yeah, I know how you feel, I have to do things like that all the time, I sing too. My advice would be to seriously just breathe and pretend that they're not there, that's what I do and it works!
