When I was reading the twilight seires I happened upon an idea that was almost diabolical. So I ask you

How mind bendingly surprising would it have been if in Breaking Dawn that instead of turning Bella into a vampire... Stephanie Meyer turned edward into a human?

I guarantee that would've caught everyone off guard.

Thoughts?

that would be really crazy right? she would have had to make Carlisle make a cure for Edward and then everyone else like Rose.
but what would happen? would they become human again and then start to age as if that place in time were never to happen??
or would they rapidly age and die in a matter of seconds??
well the second wouldnt happen if it were a happy ending but who knows what SM would have made it if she would have done that ...
and i am probably WAY off base from what she woud have dreamed up.
she is so good at that

That would be very shocking, and interesting, to say the least.
I dont know how I would feel about that, I would be both happy and kind
of put down though cuz the story is supposed to be about a vamp and a human and their literally undieing love.
It still would make one amazing story though.

I thought about that too, but how. Got any ideas? Are there any precedents? Anyone read any books like this at all?

And I don't think it would be like bringing your great grandad to life, Edward would start at 17. Hmmmm...

The best part of the book is vampires. You turn Edward human and the book would be ridiculous. I certainly would have been pissed if that happened! Whats exciting about being human? Nothing...

Nah, I've seen this discussed countless times.
And like Ligia said, the idea is even more ridiculous than a vampire getting pregnant.
If Edward became a human, it would be beyond stupid.

I wouldn't necessarily say that the idea of Edward turning into a human was stupid... but it is definitely out there! But come on, guys... it's a fictional book.
As much as we want to believe that it's real :)

That really would be a shocker! Imagine all the troubles Edward would have! He probably couldn't read minds, and he'd be so much for vulnerable(and not to mention slow), and he would need protecting as well when vampires decide to have a go at Bella. What a twist!
Ooh, and imagine what Jacob would do?

I think it would be an ausome combo lol but the question would be if it could happen to edward why not every 1 else and why. but omg if it was able to happen him become a human i dibs lol anyway i think that would have been anausome idea but personally i didnt like the way breaking dawn ended the could have done so much more for example they had a baby girl and they could have gone into so much more detail and in a 5th book but im not dissing the book its the best dam thing ive ever read and I LOVE EDWARD CULLEN Very Happy

If you want to read about a vampire turning human read The Tale of the Body Thief. It's not pretty, but is quite funny. LOL. Of course Twilight is fiction, but if you take away the vampire aspect, you take away the best part of the book.

I actually did put some thought into this possibility, though it was for my own reasons. Before ever reading Meyer's works I began writing my own Vampire-like short story. Though mine is more inspired by Frankenstein, I've seen a few things in Meyer's series that I'd possibly incorporate.

As for how it would be done? I have theories here as well. Though, I'm saving those for my own fictional tale.

Also, the idea is certainly not stupid, but I can see how this ending could be a let down for many fans. Honestly, though, I think it would have made the series more interesting for me. However, I don't think it could have ever happened, especially considering how Bella never really entertained the idea of Edward being human. Also, Bella just doesn't fit in with human or natural worlds, the supernatural realm is where she belongs, even when she herself isn't supernatural.

would be like 80 years xD and they wouldn't be able to
do all the fun exciting sh*t vamps can do ... i really like how

You know, I was thinking about that. If Edward wasn't a vampire...would it still be fun? Because...he wouldn't be able to protect her as well; to be all sly and slick...and all that jazz.

And then, I imagined myself putting down that book and doing something else.
