I'm sure you can guess who's perspective THIS one is...
I wrung my hands together. She was coming soon, the red letters with her plane's flight was moving closer and closer to the top as the newer flights pushed it out of the way. My heart pounded as each second passed. The few groups of people that passed by me looked at me with strange looks on their faces. I had an idea of what they could be thinking as they walked by the man with a crazed look on his face.
Well, I had a perfectly good reason for all the butterflies and nerves erupting. I hadn't seen Bella in seven years, and now all of sudden she's chosen to come live with me.
I hadn't changed the house much, nor had I changed much myself. Bella however was a whole different subject. Renee had sent me her new school picture just a few weeks ago, and I was suprised at how beautiful she's gotten over the summer.
Is that my daughter? I'd thought, astonished.
Of course her pale skin, and brown hair was the same. Her eyes had immediatly captured my attention. Even through the still picture, it was like she was staring at me. But not in the scary way. Normally, just her face in the direction of the camera and her eyes were focused on something above or below her, but this time she was staring right at me.
I hopped from one foot the other and glanced once again at the red letters. Her flight disappeared from the giant board of incoming flights. My stomach dropped.
"Dad!" A voice called from behind me, and I turned around.
Bella was coming up the escalator, gripping the handrail and the handle of her suitcase as if she didn't have either one, she would fall over. That was probably true. Her clumsiness wasn't acquired all by itself.
I smiled, relieved that it wasn't as stressful as I'd imagined it would be to see her again.
"Hey, Bells!"
I walked over to help her off the moving stairs, just as scared of them as she was. We walked out of the way and I grabbed her slim figure akwardly in a hug.
"It's good to see you Bella."
My baby was home!
Now I know they didn't acutally say all that stuff, I'm trying to find my copy of Twilight to write down their exact script. Be patient me, please. Not everyone can have Stephenie Meyer's amazing skills. |

Thanks!
Okay, I'm not going to post anymore of the story until I have a few votes on the CLIFFHANGER DILEMA poll thing. Sorry for any inconvience (if, for some reason there might be) and I hope to be posting soon.
P.S I can't promise that I'll be working on the stories during this wait; I have school, and I'm sure others do too, so that'll give the few who read this a break.
Love & Miss yall! And thanks for the motivation, those who provide it, you have NO IDEA how much I appreciate it & you. :)
P.P.S. Sorry if I've bored you in my writing. I don't really keep track of what I write, I just sort of type and let my brain take over and then edit to make sure it makes at least SOME sort of sense. (It's a writer thing... you wouldn't understand, unless you were/ are one. )
Have a great... break? (If that's what you would like to call it. Anything works for me ) |

Alrightie, I don't think anyone else will vote, so...screw that. Here's the next part of Charlie's POV.
(BTW, my Twilight book is lost, so I'll just do my best with what I've got. I know its in my room SOMEWHERE!)
It was quiet during the ride home. I was filled with joy, but even worse was the embarrasment. What would she think when she found out that I couldn't necessarily take care of myself? I knew she had the tendency to take all responsibility, and I didn't want her to baby me as soon as she stepped through the door.
Mixed emotions were unnatural for me, and so I had to concentrate of the suprisingly busy road before I crashed.
Bella stared out the windsheild, a small crease in her forehead. I knew why it was there.
Her giant coat was hardly doing its job for warmth, so I reluctantly turned on the heater. Today was actually one of the warmer days.
We made it home, the little conversation barely a problem. I showed her the big red truck, not that she could miss it anyhow, but it felt formal to do so.
I made, probably, my last dinner; Bella scrutinized my egg making skills with a wrinkled nose. Apparently I'd burned them. She went to bed right after dinner, and I stayed up a littel while to watch the game. During the commercials, I thought about how my easy schedule would change.
When the game was over, I trudged upstairs. While passing her room, I heard a quiet sob.
My hand reached for the door knob, but I stopped myself. What would I say?
I continued to my room and closed the door behind me. I fell right asleep, forgetting anything my brain was thinking about. |

back to charlie!
I woke up extra early. Bella might need directions, or something, that I might be able to help her with. So I had cooked the eggs, paying a little more attention to them than last night (yes, Bella was my daughter, but with a critique that strict, who wouldn't want to try and get something right?) and got my serving on a plate.
I was almost finished eating by the time I heard the clumping of feet across the floor. I glanced at the clock on the microwave. She must be running a little later than she had planned... or maybe she was always this clustered in the mornings. I wasn't the one to give answers.
She eventually came downstairs, her feet clamering a little harder than necessary on the wooden steps, and rushed into the kitchen. Her thick hair was pulled back into a ponytail, little whisps of stray hair sticking out at akward angles.
"Morning!" She smiled at me, a small gesture of embarrasment.
"Good morning." I replied quietly. "Eggs are in the pan if you want some." I cut the sentence short; heat was slowly flooding my face. Slowly, but surely.
"Thanks." Was all she said, and then she dished some out for herself.
I stared out the window while she ate. I would give anything just to leave, but I wasn't sure if she needed me or not. I gnawed on my lip for about five minutes and then slid out of the chair.
"I'd better get goin'." I said and shrugged into my jacket.
"'Kay. I'll see you later." She mumbled.
I nodded and went to grab my gun. When I was out the door and in the cruiser, I let a sigh of relief out. That was incredibly painful... I had to have a better relationship with my daughter if she was going to live here. I felt a little guilty for not having much of a conversation. But I had to admit, what I said this morning probably should last for a while. If only conversation could be bottled up and saved for later. |
